Edward Bulwer-Lytton once said, "The pen is mightier than the sword!" Indicating that conflicts should better be resolved through words rather than physical violence. I feel as though this quote should be remembered more often when it comes to conflicts and arguments. We as human beings tend to 'dish' it out on people by physical violence rather than 'talk' it out. Our words hold more power than people realize, this trait is shown many times when it comes to bullying. True, you can feel the pain and suffer from it but it's the words that stays imprinted into our brain, never letting us forget it unless we will it to. You don't say, "I love you" by hitting your loved ones, no you use your words, you actually say them. Words will mean a lot more to us than we can ever realize, they are important, without it we could never communicate, we could never express ourselves. Words give us that freedom.
To me writing is a way of escape, a way to free ourselves from this cage we call 'reality', a way to express our feelings and emotions with no interruptions. Writing for some of us could mean life or death, for others it could mean a time of enjoyment. For you it could be a hobby, an obsession, a way to express yourself, a way to block out all the negative voices in your head. You could be new to it or you could have written all your life, you could write Fiction, Non-Fiction, Fan Fiction, or all of the above. Whatever it is, let it roam free! Let your creativity flow! Let your imagination run wild! Let your words speak, let your mind be open! Let it all out! And all you simply have to do is WRITE!
